Gilbarco Veeder-Root Releases PAM® 1000 With Enhanced Software

New features support flexible loyalty price discounting, greater capacity, and faster speed for high-volume sites.

Greensboro, NC - USA - October 1, 2003 - Gilbarco Veeder-Root announces the release of a new PAM 1000 pump access module with Enhanced Software. The new software brings additional capabilities to high-volume sites that use third-party POS systems with Gilbarco® brand fuel dispensers.

By providing a high-level interface, third-party POS systems can more easily take advantage of the extensive features available with Gilbarco electronic dispensers. These additional capabilities include flexible fuel discounting at the pump, convenient access to pump configuration and performance data, and improved support for international markets. Retailers can choose to authorize price changes at individual fueling positions, apply cents-off discounts, or apply a new price for one or more transactions. This flexibility in setting price discounts enables the POS to change the price of selected grades at a single fueling position (typically used to discount the price).

New features also include more capacity with complete grade mapping for up to 36 fueling positions and extended price settings for up to 96 grades. Faster communication speeds are available up to 19,200 bps, 16 times faster than other pump access modules.
