Gilbarco's Passport® POS Now Offers Improved Standardization with Wayne® Dispenser and CAT Control Direct interface lowers maintenance costs GREENSBORO, NC - October 9, 2006 - Gilbarco Veeder-Root announced today that their Passport point of sale system's new software version enables direct control of Wayne pumps and card readers. This capability allows customers with multiple dispenser brands to standardize on one POS system across their network of sites, simplifying operation and reducing maintenance costs. In addition, the lack of a third party interface box between the POS and the dispenser eliminates a common failure point and improves time to market for new feature development at the forecourt. Slade Klack, vice president operations at Richard Oil, a MS fuel marketer, said, "Our migration to Passport at our Wayne dispenser locations has been incredibly smooth. Richard Oil has already benefited through improved efficiency and reduced training costs." The integrated system also supports Wayne's submersible pump controller, debit via the Debit Security Module (DSM) and injected DUKPT keypads at the dispenser, as well as their implementation of RFID payment. Gilbarco Veeder-Root's rigorous testing program contributes directly to the smooth implementation their customers have seen in the field, according to Kirsten Paust, Gilbarco's vice president for global retail systems. "We take each release of software through extensive testing against the different pump types that are supported in the software. This, coupled with our well-trained service network in the field, result in the highest quality interface available," said Paust. Wayne CPC is one of the new features introduced in Passport Version 5 at the NACS Show in Las Vegas October 9-11. Other features include the Mannatec/CFN Interface, a new Security Camera Interface and an interface to Cash Acceptors at the pump.
