Gilbarco Veeder-Root Mobilizes Efforts
Letter from Gilbarco Veeder-Root
President Gary Masse describes company's steps to assist customers
affected by Hurricane Katrina.
September 9, 2005
Dear Valued Associates and Customers:
I am writing today to share with you an update on our associates in the
effected areas and our efforts to ensure our customers are able to
resume normal business operations as quickly as possible.
First, all of our associates who are based in the effected area have
reported that they and their families are safe and that their homes are
relatively undamaged. All of our distributors in the area have also
resumed operations.
We have taken the following steps to assist our customers in the affected area:
- Increased production rates on key service parts and finished goods that will be of the most use in restoring site operations.
- Facilitated local stock of parts and equipment by our distribution partners.
- Implemented priority shipping and allocation to the region to ensure rapid order response.
- GVR Area Service Managers are active in Louisiana and Mississippi and others are on stand-by to support customer needs.
- Created a list of service providers, technicians, and
installation crews from our Authorized Contractor network that are
available to travel into the affected area. Once conditions in the
markets stabilize and workloads are assessed, the required crews will
be deployed to areas of greatest need.
- Dedicated Terry Ross, V-P and General Manager of Service, to coordinate all response activities.
We have also implemented a 100% matching campaign. Any donations made
by our employees to relief operations will be matched by an equal
contribution from Danaher Corporation to the Red Cross.
Yours truly,
Gary Masse
President, Gilbarco Veeder-Root
