Independent Survey Shows Gilbarco Veeder-Root Tops in Technology
Convenience Store Decisions Magazine poll highlights Gilbarco quality
GREENSBORO, NC - April 17, 2007 - Convenience Store Decisions commissioned Hagen Marketing Research to conduct a brand preference study as part of their annual Reader's Choice Awards. The magazine set out to identify with this survey the suppliers and manufacturers that retailers say are doing the best job meeting their needs.
Results were published in the March issue of their magazine. “Gilbarco Veeder-Root was the clear winner of [the Technology] category, with 29% saying it has the best product quality,” according to the magazine’s report. The 56 key decision makers surveyed represent 16,485 stores across 52 chains. The data was gathered both through anonymous surveys and onsite interviews at headquarters and regional offices, and each chain operates a minimum of 10 stores. 71% of respondents were VPs or Directors of Operations. 61% operated between 10 and 49 stores.
John Lofstock, Convenience Store Decisions editor, noted that “these are the suppliers that retailers themselves said were partners in growing their business.”
Lofstock added, “Retailers want supplier partners to respond to their needs and to present innovative and profitable new ideas that will help them be more successful in this very competitive industry.”
