Gilbarco Inc. Acquires Autotank Group

GREENSBORO, N.C. – June 26, 2008 - Gilbarco Inc. announced today that it has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire the shares of Autotank Group of Tampere, Finland from Aspo PLC pending final closure of the deal. Autotank is a leader in the design, production, marketing and sale of retail automation equipment, including outdoor payment systems for fuel retailers in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. In addition, the group provides extensive installation and maintenance services for fuel retail outlets across the region. The company employs 320 people across multiple sites in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Russia.

To reinforce the importance and strength of both brands in the market, the Autotank group of companies will be renamed “Gilbarco Autotank.” Peter Hutton, an experienced industry leader and Autotank executive, will be appointed as managing director of Gilbarco Autotank upon closing the deal. Gilbarco Autotank will remain headquartered in Finland, while working closely with Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s EMEA team to deliver full value to customers immediately.
