Gilbarco introduces EMV and PCI-compliant FlexPay™ Outdoor Payment Terminal (OPT)

GREENSBORO, N.C. – September 23, 2008 – Gilbarco has expanded its range of compliant payment solutions with the introduction of its fully-certified FlexPay Outdoor Payment Terminal (OPT) at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) show. al as an Island Card Reader that can be positioned next to the pump and support single or multiple fuel dispensers.

“Gilbarco’s FlexPay OPT is a great value for retailers who want to add PCI and EMV compliant payment to their fuel islands where there is currently no pay-at-the-pump or where it is not feasible to add a compliant CRIND to each dispenser,” said Scott McDowell, marketing manager for North American payment products at Gilbarco Veeder-Root.

The FlexPay product line has EuroPay MasterCard Visa (EMV) Level 1 and Level 2 certification, Interac Association Device Certification for outdoor payment solutions, and Payment Card Industry Encrypting PIN Entry Device (PCI PED) approvals.

FlexPay OPT supports Gilbarco’s Generic and Major Oil Company CRIND® interfaces to simplify integration and POS system development. The small size (13”W x 7”D x 63”H) makes it an easy addition to existing fuel islands. The 5.7” color screen enables clear and effective instruction and feedback to consumers, consistent with the familiar user interface from Gilbarco’s FlexPay CRIND® card reader in dispenser.
