Environmentally Friendly with Familiar "Gasoline-Style" Operation

Since 1995, Gilbarco has supported alternative motor fuels with products for a wide range of fuel offerings, including Ethanol, Biodiesel, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

Gilbarco’s Flexible Fuel dispensers are designed to exceed pending safety and environmental standards while providing the reliability and conformity demanded by today's customers.

Gilbarco’s flagship dispenser, the Encore S features Gilbarco's styled bezel that speeds selection, payment, and throughput. Its intuitively grouped customer interface speeds transactions, aided by progressive lighting cues to encourage customers to make selections easier and faster. The Advantage Series dispenser is also available for E-85 and Biodiesel applications, with its familiar customer interface and dependability. Gasboy mechanical and electronic dispensers meet the Flex Fuel needs of retailers and fleet managers who require low hose units.

Ethanol Fuels

Ethanol is a high octane, liquid, domestic and renewable fuel, produced by the fermentation of plant sugars. In the United States, ethanol is typically produced from corn and other grain products, although in the future it may be economically produced from other biomass resources such as agricultural and forestry wastes or specially grown energy crops.

E85 has an octane of approximately 105.
E85 sells for approximately the same price as unleaded gasoline.
Ethanol reduces the incidence of greenhouse gas emissions.
Ethanol is domestically produced and promotes energy independence.
Ethanol production increases the value of feed grains grown by farmers.
Ethanol is biodegradable and does not contaminate water.
Ethanol can be produced from a number of different feedstocks including paper and agricultural waste.

Biodiesel Fuels

What is biodiesel? Biodiesel is the name of a clean burning alternative fuel produced from domestic, renewable resources. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. It can be used in compression ignition (diesel) engines with no major modifications. Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics.

Biodiesel can be used as a pure fuel or blended with petroleum in any percentage. B20 (a blend of 20 percent biodiesel with 80 percent petroleum diesel) has demonstrated significant environmentalbenefits with a minimum increase in cost for fleet operations and otherconsumers.

Biodiesel is registered as a fuel and fuel additive with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and meets clean diesel standards established by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Neat (100 percent) biodiesel has been designated as an alternative fuel by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

Natural Gas Fuels

Natural gas is domestically produced and readily available to end-users through the utility infrastructure. Natural gas can either be stored onboard a vehicle as compressed natural gas (CNG) at 3,000 or 3,600 psi or as liquefied natural gas (LNG) at typically 20-150 psi. Natural gas can also be blended with hydrogen.
