Acceptance of Privacy Policy
By using the Veeder-Root site, you signify your acceptance of our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our site. Your continued use of the Veeder-Root site following the posting of changes to these terms will mean that you accept these changes.
Online Information Gathering
Types of information collected by this site: Information collected online is often defined as being either anonymous or personally identifiable:
- Anonymous information cannot be tied back to a specific individual.
- Personally identifiable information lets us know the specifics of who you are such as your name, e-mail address, or postal address.
The choice of how much of your personally identifiable information that you choose to disclose to Veeder-Root is left completely up to you.
The only way we know something about you personally is if you voluntarily provide us with your personal information, such as when you transact business at our site, or communicate on the site by sending us an e-mail, or contribute to our list services, or post to any discussion board or other forum.
Please note that if you are an active customer of Veeder-Root, you may have been assigned a membership id and password to be used for accessing certain limited areas of our site. This information is maintained by Veeder-Root and is used solely to allow you to access these limited areas. Collection of IP addresses: When visiting any Internet site your unique address called an 'IP address' is recorded. Veeder-Root does not release any information about the collection of this address to any third party except under court order. Veeder-Root archives the log files in order to create aggregate statistical reports, detect errors at the web site, and for security reasons. The log files are eventually deleted. Information collected from user orders or requests is deleted after a few months.
Collection of personal information: On certain pages on our site, such as in connection with completing a Veeder-Root services agreement or other form online, or if you ask for more information about our services or equipment, we give you the option of providing us with names, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail addresses, demographic, and other personal and financial information. This more personal information is not gathered by us without your knowing and active permission and participation.
Statistics
Veeder-Root's site generally stores no information about its visitors, with the exceptions of basic logging for site stats (machine addresses, not e-mail addresses), and information provided by users who fill out our online forms. Under no circumstances does Veeder-Root compile 'audit trails' of which users are browsing what pages.
Veeder-Root does compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors to our site and its subdirectories, the daily requests we receive for particular files, and what server locations, including countries, those requests come from. These aggregated statistics are used internally to better provide services to the public and may also be provided to others, but again, do not include personal information.
Non-disclosure
We will never intentionally disclose any personal information about you or your company that is collected from you on our site to any third party without having received your permission. We will never intentionally disclose any information about an individual fueling location, including information about fuel consumption or leaks that is collected from you on our site to any third party without having received your permission. In other words, without your permission, Veeder-Root will not sell, rent, loan or give personally identifiable user information or fueling location information collected from you on Veeder-Root's site to marketers or any other third parties.
We can obtain your permission before, during or afterward our site collects your personally identifiable user information or fueling location information. Permission may be granted to us in the agreements you sign with us or in other form that you complete online or offline. If permitted by the terms of your agreement with Veeder-Root, your fueling location data may be compiled on an aggregated basis and sold to third parties and/or used by Veeder-Root.
The one exception to this non-disclosure policy is that, although unlikely, Veeder-Root may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide personally identifiable information or fueling location information to the appropriate governmental authorities. In these cases, we will provide this information as and to the extent we have determined that the disclosure of any such information is appropriate.
Cookies
To enable any purchasing features or personalized features that may be available or become available on Veeder-Root's site, we will assign your browser a unique identification number stored in a file on your computer (a 'cookie'). Cookies by themselves cannot be used to find out the identity of any user. Veeder-Root operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our databases, including the member database, and system administrations logs, are password protected. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our visitors.
