The nation’s first and only tablet-style POS system with full EMV capability is installed and online for the first time at a convenience store. Passport POS went live at 49 Fuels in Burlington, NC last week.
Last year, 49 Fuels became the nation’s first gas station to perform an EMV “chip card” transaction. Because Passport POS is EMV-ready out-of-the-box, the site can run a tablet-style POS system and process chip card transactions outside at the pump.
“The transition to Passport EDGE was effortless. The intuitive design and use of touchscreen gestures made the process easy and quick", said Scott Oakes, Manager, Gilbarco POS & FoodService Solutions.
49 Fuels is a perfect example of a site that can play to the advantages of Passport POS. While considered a small retailer, 49 Fuels has a well-established food service program, a vibrant product offering and a loyal customer base. The flexibility of the features and design make Passport POS a perfect fit for their unique business model.
Passport EDGE focuses on future-proofing small businesses on a budget. The cutting-edge POS solution breaks down barriers that keep small fuel sites from growing with today’s technology standards.
